As an artist and a scientist, I’m fortunate to find myself in a field that combines my passion for both.

With the vast array of names for people in our field – biomedical communicators, medical illustrators, scientific visualizers – no matter what you call us, we are those rare individuals who have artistic abilities, an eye for design and an in-depth knowledge of science and medicine.

As professional artists who interpret and create visual material to help record and disseminate medical, biological and related knowledge, our goal is to clearly and accurately communicate complex concepts in an aesthetically pleasing way.

We create visual representations using traditional and digital techniques that can be found in (and is by no means limited to) textbooks, teaching modules, pamphlets, courtroom exhibits, advertising, journals, websites, television, movies…
